The Georgia Trust recognized The Felker House with a Preservation Award in 1999 for excellence in Historic Preservation. Over two million dollars went into the restoration of the home, which had been left in disrepair until then owner, Dr. Robert Purdy brought it back to it’s original beauty. The Felker Family were lumbar barons, and the beautiful oak details throughout from the grand staircase, to the trim work, floors, and beyond were restored using old photographs to maintain the integrity of the original home.
